Default 951 fuel injectors

hey i have a question. i read on a previous thread about replacing the 944 n/a injectors with 951 injectors. im thinking about doing this with my 89. does this really help any and if it does how much would it cost and where might be a good place to get them besides the dealer of course. thanks

I dont believe it works, the tips are different. Here is a good place to buy them, they go for about 150 usually (I sold mine at 1something a few weeks ago).

I've got a set of stock fuel injectors out of my 1989 944 Turbo S. Yours for...$150US if you want them. Work fine, took them out as I needed more fuel for my big turbo.

On an '89 944NA? You'll end up with 50% way too much fuel across the board! You'll be spitting out huge plumes of smoke at idle and everywhere you go. That's even if the car will run, which I doubt. Partly because the impedance on the 951 are completely different from any other car. The key to getting more power from an engine is to get more air to flow through (hard), not dumping in more fuel (easy).

Too big, man, forget it. Your idle will be sht, and you would have to turn down the pressure to a level too low for even a Bosch injector. Get the rising rate adjustable fuel pressure regulator from Paragon, and use it with your stock injectors.
