I've seen a decal remover in catalogs that is like a big eraser that you mount on a drill. I don't know how it effects the finish but if you were repainting it definitely would be worth looking into.

I remember removing the decals of one of my cars and is sucked.

I had a body shop remove some pin stripes from my son's pick up using the eraser, and they said if you aren't careful it is very easy to burn the paint. I don't know if that is true, but I'd be very careful with that method unless you are prepared to re-paint.

If they are very cracked (as mine were) expect to spend quite some time removing them.

Probably gonna do mine. They aren't cracked, but they're chipped like crazy....so yeah, they're gonna be a pain. I'm gonna have to see if I can get ahold of that 3M adhesive remover stuff.

By the way, anyone have any ideas on how to polish up the plasticy coating along the rocker panels? As you can see, mine is really badly chipped near the bottom.

I bought a can of spray paint and clear coat from paintscratch.com, and plan to paint my rocker panels next week. I had them add the "flex" product to it, which is supposed to make it more rubbery.

That's how I removed the ones that were on my Conquest. Heat gun, peel, heat gun peel, etc....

Just be careful, to much heat and they will turn to slop and really make your life miserable!

A little advice....what ever you do, DO NOT use a razor blade or a metal putty knife. Unless you are planning to repaint the area. The object is not to damage the paint beneath. Be careful with a heat gun, too much heat will bubble the paint.

Good luck!

FYI, clear stone gaurds are put on all cars except white ones. White cars should have the white stone gaurds on them. The idea is that the clear ones go rather yellowish on a white car
