I've seen a decal remover in catalogs that is like a big eraser that you mount on a drill. I don't know how it effects the finish but if you were repainting it definitely would be worth looking into.
I remember removing the decals of one of my cars and is sucked.

I had a body shop remove some pin stripes from my son's pick up using the eraser, and they said if you aren't careful it is very easy to burn the paint. I don't know if that is true, but I'd be very careful with that method unless you are prepared to re-paint.

By the way, anyone have any ideas on how to polish up the plasticy coating along the rocker panels? As you can see, mine is really badly chipped near the bottom.

I bought a can of spray paint and clear coat from paintscratch.com, and plan to paint my rocker panels next week. I had them add the "flex" product to it, which is supposed to make it more rubbery.

I used a heat gun I got from Home Depot for $25 (hair dryer is not hot enough) and heated up the edges and scraped with a plastic putty knife. I then took "Goof Off" and a rag and rubbed off all the adhesive. I tried "3M Adhesive Remover", but found "Goof Off" worked much easier. Took me a total of about 3 hours and 6 beers (I wasn't driving afterwards) to get it all done.

A little advice....what ever you do, DO NOT use a razor blade or a metal putty knife. Unless you are planning to repaint the area. The object is not to damage the paint beneath. Be careful with a heat gun, too much heat will bubble the paint.
Good luck!

FYI, clear stone gaurds are put on all cars except white ones. White cars should have the white stone gaurds on them. The idea is that the clear ones go rather yellowish on a white car
