Default Thinking about getting LM's

I can get a really good deal on bbs wheels through a friend of mine and i think i might go for some bbs LM's sometime after christmas. I really want them in the peened silver finnish but im not sure if he can get those or if there are as many sizes available in that color. I think im going to stick to a 17 inch diameter cause an 18, while it would look good, seems like it would be kind of overkill. What are the optimum sizes for the front and the rear? I was thinking maybe 8 inch width in the front and 9 in the back, any suggestions?

What you are going to end up with if you want 17 inch BBS LMs in 8's up front and 9's in back would be a custom wheel.

If you want 17 inch LMs you would have to have an early offset 944 Turbo, which you do not have, so this leaves you with the 18's, IIRC they are 7.5 in front and 9 in back, and you can't change that either.

With what you want you are going to have to go to BBS, or Kinesis, or Fikse, or HRE and have the wheels made

I don't have a url, but several listers are happy with CCW (complete custom wheels), FWIH very reasonable $.

thats good to hear. although since we are talking about wheels that are already 700+ dollars from most retailers i might be better off just putting up with the 18's since i could get them at a low price. 7.5 in front is kind of thin though and i was hopping to go with something that was less staggard than the stock setup.

JFYI, I'm running 7.5s and 9s with 225 up front and 245 in the back. Next time I may go 255 in the back. Believe it or not, Tirerack suggests 7.5s all around for 951s.

I could see 7.5 all around being pretty good on a stock 951 and that would probably make an awesome autox setup. I am also running 225's in the front and 245's in the rear on the existing wheels and the staggard setup causes some understeer that i would rather not have but can put up with. Its certainly not a big enough deal for me spend a thousand bucks over.
