ok well now i've finally removed that stupid tail lens that says "PORSCHE" from between the normal tail lights. now i'm faced with 4 holes haha. anyway, i was wondering if there is supposed to be a license plate light on my 89 944. im going to be transplanting the license plate from the rear bumper to the normal location over the weekend probably when i have time.

There sure are lights that are supposed to be there. Two of them at the top of each end of the plate. Look under the sheet metal lip above where the plate should be and you should see the punch outs in the sheet metal.

Hope they didn't also chop off the wiring to the lights. Better start asking guys parting out cars if they have all the bits. And those screws are a pain to remove if you have normal sized hands because it is tight, the screws are tiny, and they use a lock nut that you need to spin forever to get off.

 

actually the wiring and stuff is still visible from the inside of the car when you pull back the rear carpet. The thing is from the outside, it seems as if there are red plates (my car is guards red) covering the cutouts. any ideas? do you think it's just a cover? i would go check right now but of course i'm studying for finals and my parents would kill me if i went outside to go work on the car. haha. thanks
