Question 1986 944 Turbo Option M19

Hi all, searched high and low, and have found all the options for my 1986 944 Turbo except code M19.

M18 is the closet found option code, and M019 is similar. However, since the Car was originally purchased in the US I don't think M019 make sense as it's for Japan.

Anyone know what this option code is for?

Here's the list of codes if interested:

C02 - Catalytic Converter
I82 - Passenger compartment
M19 - ???
158 - Radio “Reno”
341 - Central Locking System
485 - Forged wheels gold metallic
533 - Alarm System
650 - Electric Sunroof
946 - Partial Leather Seats Front

Greetings and Welcome.

I can't help much with that option code, but do you know about your I82 "Touring Package" grouping ?

Read more about it on my "Documenting a 28,000 mile Sport Touring ....." Thread which I started about a year and a half ago on my white '86 naturally aspirated 944. It appears just a few posts away from this one, on this page.

You appear to have a fairly rare option on your 951 in this pkg.

Do you have your original Monroney Window sticker from when it was sold new ?

The only lead I may have here re: that M19, is concerning your steering wheel. Do you have a 3 spoke or the 4 spoke Sport wheel ? And do you have a 'raised hub' as noted by the extended short collar down by where the steering column meets the area around the stalks ? Giving you extra length on positioning the wheel up and off your legs ?

I had no idea that's what I82 was for. Great to hear it, and thanks for sharing. I'm going through your post now, very interesting.

As for the original Monroney Sticker Unfortunately, I don't have that.

The steering wheel is the non-airbag standard 4 spoke original as seen here via pelican parts . No extender from what I can see. Steering wheel is just off my legs, and does seem low.

I don't think a 3-spoked wheel was an option on any 85.5-89 model year 944/951 series cars.

You're right. Checked my 86 brochure and it lists the 4 spoke wheel as standard equipment. The early models came with standard 3 spoke wheel. The 4 spoke leather wheel was a $70 option on my 84.
