Post Looking at a 951 what do you think

This is my first post but have been reading them all for the last few months. The car I am currently looking at is a 86 951 with 116000 miles, a k&n cone filter, boost enhancer. It does need some paint work but I want to paint it yellow in the future. Runs good. Good int but the dash has a plastic cover. Water pump and timing belt 3k ago. He is asking 6500. What do you think?

Thanks
Jeff

Sounds like a fair deal.... Mine's compairable except for the paint/interior (mine are near flawless), plus the extras for only $2k more. It'll cost you more than that to get a Good paintjob and fix the interior ~ but I understand about buying a little less expensive because that's what you can afford now.

Brian is pretty much giving his away. Personally I think he should be shot for giving it away at that price but thats me. There are so many crap 951s floating around. We are the exceptions, not the rule. First 7-8 951s I looked at way back when were total pieces of monkey dung. The kind that need NOTHING but gas and a loving owner are few and far between. If my lease was up, Id have brought Brians a week ago pending a PPI (my sanity only Brian - trust, but verify . You can burn $5000 in the blink of an eye making a moderately good 951 into a watertight no-issues 951. Doesnt take much. Bad belts, bad pumps, bad seals, bad hatch, bad dash, bad rims, bad motor mounts, bad stereo, bad rubber. Poof. Picture money on fire.

Brian has not paid me for my endorsement. You gotta know when to pull the trigger on a car though!!
