Default back after a long time

Hi, all. Name's Al in Las Vegas. I was a minor presence here in the 90s, back around the time the PorscheFans to PorscheList transition happened. Then, I was mostly cutting my teeth as a shade tree mechanic and absorbing information, and mainly into 951s. I later drifted out of the circle when real life called more loudly, things transitioned to Rennlist and I got more into 911s. I still love the 924/944/family of cars and will probably get back into one soon.

I still have a large library of old posts and information from Porschelist on 924/944 series cars, including posts from and side-conversation emails with the big 944 brains of the day. I am sure things have moved on quite a bit since then, but hopefully I can contribute something here from the many hours of skinned knuckles doing timing belts, water pumps and (back then) crazy mods.

Attached: a couple of pics of memorabilia from when Porschelist became enough of a thing to have memorabilia...

Cheers, Al

Welcome back! There are still a handful of us here from the old mailing list days! The level of knowledge about these cars has exploded over the last few decades -- new info pops up every now and then, but there are very few mysteries left compared to the old days...
