Default 944 chrome(ish) bumper

Who remembers the 70s? One of the carry overs to the early 80s was big chrome bumpers. I was always curious what the 944 would look like with chrome bumpers, especially some they're just big hunks of unintegrated metal. Since my rear bumper was in need of a respray anyway, I decided to satisfy my curiosity. Not wanting to actually chrome dip, and after a brief but unsuccessful battle with vinyl, I decided to give it a chrome spray and see how it looked.

I like it. Did you use a rattle can?

Thanks. Yes, rattle can, so it probably won't last very long. I tried vinyl, but failed. I also tried clear coat on top, but it just turned the chrome to a full grey. This is by no means meant to be an end product. Probably not brave enough to try it on the front yet.

The bumpers are aluminum correct? You could strip and polish them which makes for a very unique look, or have them powder coated chrome.

Just a thought...
