Default Help me identify this wiring harness hack behind my glove box

I pulled out the glove box today to adjust the door hinges, and found a couple odd things behind there.

1, The wiring harness in my hand looks to be hacked, any idea what this is? Airbag?
2. Notice the other harness dangling in the back ground, where does that mount?
3. Looks like the bracket that holds the back of the glove box was not installed, but I found it stuffed back there, so I will reattach. Any idea if the harness & bracket I mention in #2 bolts there as well?

Thanks

The plug with the red and green jumper wires is for the alarm. The alarm module has been taken off and the wires jumped so the car starts and runs, bypassing the alarm altogether. Not sure about the other plug and where it mounts to.

Thank you, good to know. Now that I know it is the alarm, I see there are lots of FAQs on the forums on jumping the alarm, which the prior owner must have done.

I don't have the 2nd keyhole behind the driver's door, so I didn't think I had the alarm option. My option sticker doesn't list alarm system, but I now understand it was standard on all 951s.

That is the factory bypass plug for cars that did not come with the alarm option.

Interesting, my option sticker does not show the alarm option codes 525/533, but I read that all '87 951s had the alarm as standard.

So, maybe the alarm is not standard on my 951, and therefore you are right, that is the factory harness.

Thanks for the clarification!
