Never heard of that, but makes sense. My 92 GS-R (God rest her soul), had no bags but did have mice. I'm odd, but I actually ended up getting used to them.

True...but every added safety device increases the odds in your favor. I would guess even older airbags have sensors that are protected from the elements...good as new. If they weren't, the light would go off on the dash, right?
Plus, the airbag wheel isn't as skinny and old looking as the non-airbag wheels...and I thought the 968CS wheel felt TOO thick. YMMV, of course.

Andy - if it makes you feel better I am not in love with the CS wheel either. I would like to have a 996 sport wheel though! If I can ever find the Carbon tequipment one for less than 1K I might even be interested.

Alex, are you sure about Brit steering wheels? Every picture I've seen of British cars has been with regular wheels, except CS cars or where it's been converted. I've been buying 911&Posche World for years, and most images show the regular airbag wheel in 968 photo's.

Just a note,,,about what I had posted on AJUSA. I sent an email to them this morning(Friday morning), still no comment back. They will get a call back on Monday. I did however call my friend, as I stated, he knows he getting the wheel and told him to call AJUSA and bring "Nick" up on the line. I'll find out what happened to day.

I thought everyone might like to see the email I just got,,it must have come in last night.
Brett,
It was not said to me that the wheel was purchased or noticed on
Rennlist as
we only give that discount to Rennlist members.
I am more than happy to give that price and also issue a refund of the
difference, I will be contacting Veronica to inform her.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Thank you and my apologies for the confusion,

That just put them in my top five vendor list. I sent back a nice reply thanking them and told them I would post up the reply. Great to know that we have a stand up guy in Nick.
I just looked outside,,we've got 2" of snow on the ground,,and I WAS going for a cold weather boosted drive today,,not now.

Three Wheelin'
Actually, having your airbag in a 15+ year old car, are you sure it will even actually work? I would wonder with an airbag system that old how good the charge still is. I was thinking I read an article somewhere about older airbags and service life and such, but I don't remember now. If you have an older airbag, it might be worth investigating to see what the service life on one is. Might be due for a $$$$ replacement. One more thing to add to the expensive maintenance on the nearly 20 year old 944 you drive!
Whoops...did a search and found a one....suggests they might be getting old....somewhere else stated that 100,000 miles was about what they were good for, but that's silly as some cars here will be 20 without that mileage and some cars get that in 2-3 years.

My thoughts as well<<
Me three.
Ask Dave M what one of these H-bombs looks like when it goes off...or anyone who's been around one of the many track cars who have had these first-gen devices go off unexpectedly. Plus, it's one more piece of weight you can remove.......
I have the 930S wheel on my S2 - I love it. Very meaty and looks like it belongs there.
YMMV Al
