1985 Production Numbers
Ok, here's my first question for the "Rennlist Brain Trust"..........
From what I can find out, there where 6,100+ US 1985 944's. This must include early '85's as well as the 85.5's because the charts I've seen just list the production by years ('83,'84, '85, '86 etc.)
My question is: Does anyone know how I can find out how many of the early 85's were made for the US market that had the sunroof delete option?
Just curious to see if this is a rare year/option combination so I can self-justify how much more $ I think it will take to bring her "up to spec".

Race Car
Never try to justify cost with these cars, it will not work out the way you want it to, Enron's books were easier to make look good. If you need to justify something, go for a drive while making up your mind, that always works for the tough choices.

guess I should have said "wife" justify!!!!
I'm more interested in the rarity of the model. Believe me, I'm already committed to the relationship and realize mistresses cost money

Race Car
It's rare that anyone finds production numbers for any given option but I can tell you that 80-95% of US market 944s have sunroofs, the delete is not common and is somewhat desirable to those looking to build a racecar. You should be able to get a breakdown of production numbers for early/late '85 but as far as rarety goes, the '85.5 is the same as an '86 and most '85.1 are the same as the '84. There are a few cars made right in the middle that have some but not all of the mid-year changes (eg, early body w/ late suspension or DME). Have you run your other option codes through a decoder? A car with sunroof delete, MO30, LSD, factory color matched Fuchs and sport seats would be pretty rare (and a really nice find).

yeah, I ran the codes and unfortunately don't have the M030, LSD or the Fuchs.
Still need to crack the DME and see if its early or late.
Just thought I'd throw the question out there and see if there was any other info available
Thanks for your input Dave
