Default 87 944 slave cylinder needs gasket?

I am trying to help a friend fix a bad clutch slave cylinder in his 89 Porsche 944. We sent for replacements this past weekend and he just callled to say they are in. When I asked him to inspect the package, neither the master nor the slave cylinders came with gaskets. It is hard to think that none are needed.

Should I ask him to get these from a Porsche dealer before we set out to do the work?

This being my first time with a Porsche, any hints about the whole process will also be appreciated. All I know it that the starter will need to be removed to access the slave cylinder. Depending on how it goes, I'd like to replace the master at the same time but this I may delay if I am not confident that there won't be any complications.

Thanks in advance for any help.
