Default Child seat installation in rear seat

Final product

Test fitting showed i needed some additional washers.

Not sure why one bolt is shiny and clean and the other is black.

I have a 1987 944S and since I bought it a year ago I wanted to be able to take both of my boys for rides. One of the reasons I didn't get a Miata was due to a lack of rear seats...that's a deal breaker with two boys.
With only lap belts in the back, having just a booster was a no-go. This meant I had to get a big seat back in there but there is nowhere to attach the latch belts. My solution was to sacrifice one of the lap belts and extract the D-shaped bracket. Ideally I would have made my own, but lack of tools didn't help. In the end it is a tight fit, and frankly I'm not even sure he'll fit in there.....hope it was worth it.

Could you let us know which exact model is that child seat?

I'm thinking most of them are too wide, especially the isofix-style ones.

I know, usually they are so wide. This is the "Sunshine Radian". I bought this one about 5 yrs ago so not sure what's on the market now.

Thanks!

I'm also wondering till what age the child seats really are mandatory if I only have the 2-point lap belts. Legislation does not appear to be clear on that around here.

Anyway, I don;t have children yet but think it's good to be prepared.
