Default Speedo Sensor

Can someone please explain to me how to remove the transmission speedo sensor that sends "impulses" to the speedometer and if there is a way to check it before ordering a new one to replace it?

Thanks in advance.

Its a threaded plastic sender that you can remove by unplugging it and turning it off (mine by hand). Mine was physically smashed by a CV joint letting loose so no testing possible, I can't help you there.

Usually you need to use a wrench to unscrew it (24mm maybe?) - there should be a crush washer under the hex to keep the transmission fluid in.
