'91 Dodge Shadow of America

2 blown headgaskets (1 current, 5000 miles and still going), 1 cracked block (never fixed), no options, original rear tires (can't wear 'em out), oil changes ever 10,000 miles (used oil from Porsche 930), 28 mpg every single day. Car cannot die!

Hmm... not even Wacky Wednesday yet...

In reverse order, Car Talk did a poll and came out with the Yugo on top - followed by the: Vega, Pinto, Gremlin, Chevette, LeCar, Aspen/Volare, Cimarron, Renault Dauphine, and the VW bus. Since the Cimarron is in there, I won't complain that they left out the Cadavalier - but, where's the Corvair?

Even though I'm a Porsche guy through-and-through, my all-time favorite car that just sticks with me is the Ferrari 250 GTO. The Carrera GT has got to be my favorite modern car.

I sorta agree with Skip, it should be a 12-cyl Ferrari. My choice would be the '56 250 TdF Zagato. Followed very closely by the '59 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Lusso.

My 1997 Nissan sentra - like the dodge - that damn car won't die. I'm still getting 38-42 mpg with more than 110K miles on it, chronic slipping belts (replaced them 5K ago - retensioned to no avail - don't care enough to keep working on it), terribly bent 13" rims with bald tires, a slow oil leak and a nearly 7 year old battery that puts out all 300A (wee bit) every single time. Let's see, the struts are just a joke at this point, there are more cracks and dings than should be allowed on a chasis, it goes on and on. And with all that, it's still awesome in the snow and get's 35+ mpg with AC on!... much much better on long trips, at more than 110K miles! I'm waiting for it to explode - but I'm thinking it just won't - EVER!
If porsche built that dependability into the 944, we'd be looking at $30K cars instead of 5-10K!
