Default Caliper question, help

Hello all,

I finally got my wheel issue fixed, and before I put the big reds back on I need to figure something out. I hope this isn't too confusing, i'm finding it dificult to phrase exactly what I'm trying to do, but here goes. The cross over line that goes from the inside piston half to the outside piston half of the caliper, can this be at either end of the caliper? In other words, can I swap the bleeder screws into the threads that house the line, and put the line ends where the bleeders where? I need to know because I'm imagining that the threads on the other end are better off than the mild striping I've got on the bleeder side. The line fitings I can tighten and forget about. Hopefully the new bleeder threads will be true throughout the range, and not let the bleeder wobble at open. Sorry if this was confusing. Much appreciated if someone actually understands the confusion.

They can swap, but the bleeders need to be at the top of the mounted caliper.

Cool, maybee thats why I'm having bleeding issues, because in their present state they are at the bottom. Thanks!

Yup that would be a problem man. The air must be able to rise to the top to be bled out. You need the cross tube at the bottom and the bleeders at the top.

Air is lighter than brake fluid any day of the week! Switch 'em and see if it helps.

Since your "pressure" bleeding the brake system anyway to bleed it, does it really make a difference if the bleeder is at the top? Kinda "goes with the flow" kinda thing? Or another way of putting it.....whats gravity got to do with it?............theres a song named something like that aint there? Anyway, I think I'd be more inclined to do something about the nasty threads, if it really is an issue, like drill/tap for a larger bleed screw?
