So what do you think would be harder and cost more? Adding the lsd out of the s box to my turbo box or putting a new ring and pinion into the s box
Adding the ring and pinion would cost more/be more difficult than just adding the LSD. Have somebody check the part numbers in PET, I think the LSD are the same (except for maybe the Turbo S).

What do you think the reason for failure was? Old and worn box or too much power for the weaker ring and pinion
Did I miss something? What Failure?

Sorry, the reason I'm researching all of this is that I blew the pinion out of the s box. I put my turbo box back in for the time being, but I'm missing the lsd and shorter gearing.

The S ring/pinion are known to NOT handle the extra torque in a turbo, so if you want the shorter final drive, you need to get an S2 ring and pinion.
