Default Heat Always On

Hey Guys-

I need your advice on the new toy. The heat is always on. I've heard I need to check the blend door motor, and a clip (?) on the blend door. Has nyone had/fixed this same type of problem?

How hard is it to get down to the blend door? Do they often break, or should I be looking at the dash controls?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. By the way, 1988 951.

Heater Clip is a common failure on these cars. Lay on your back in the drivers side footewell and look up to your left. You will see a rod(your car may have a cover over this area, not too sure what year they changed that). If the rod os dangling/loose, your heater clip is broken. IIRC they are white and rectangular. A few bucks to replace.

My heat stays on until the car warms up. Is this a problem associated with a vacum leak?

could also be a bad temp sensor. that's my problem i think. the heater clip is fine - i've already checked.
