I got a nasty rock chip in the windshield on my '84 944 n/a. Luckily, I have free glass replacement on my insurance. The auto glass place has to order the windshield and is going to install it on Wednesday. Is there anything I should be concerned about or forewarn the glass tech before they rip out the old windshield? The last thing I need is a leaky windshield to match the leaky hatch.

Make sure they clean off all of the adheasive before putting the new glass in. Also check the bottom sealing of the windshield after installation. Had a small gap in mine on the left side.
If you have some extra dollars you could by the spacers and trim for the flush mounted windshields. Make yours look like a later model and take away the wind noise.

Any more info on flush mount vs. older style? I'm not sure if my windshield has been replaced before, so maybe I alreay have the flush mount. How would I know for sure, to be sure the auto glass place ordered the right one? I'd hate to find out I already have flush mount and they put in something else. Does flush mount have the black aluminum moulding around it?
