I still cannot find 16in Fuchs offered in any Porsche brochure on the early 944 na cars. Where did you see this?

I've seen it in print. I just can't lay my hands on that brochure at the moment

This looks like a good car but will need a pretty healthy investment to get it up to date. Had a couple txt/email communications with the seller.
Original wheels were swapped for the phone dials in about '85--originals not available with car.
I ran carfax which held no surprises, but no mileage notations.
Seller sent me a copy of 2009 service invoice showing mileage at 10885. On this service camshaft sensor was replaced to correct poor running after troubleshooting other possibilities. Compression then said to be 180/185/180/185. Tires and brake lines both original and "cracked." No info on timing belt, etc. At that service, fuel in tank had been there two years.
I agree that the tool kit and compressor look fantastic.
I'm guessing it would take $5-6k to get all the mechanicals in order, then a couple more for correct wheels and tires, plus transport, plus 10% sales tax for registration and any repair bills in WA. At a BIN of $15k it would end up around $25k all done. I still think that's a good price, but I bought a low mile '83 944 last year and am looking for a post 85.5 car and/or Turbo to round out the collection.
I hope this car goes to someone on the list who can update us on progress.

Well it got bid to $12,800 which obviously didn't meet the reserve and no BIN as it remains unsold.

I cannot see $5-6k of work required here. Belts, foes, maybe the engine mounts and some rubber hoses as they are old. A full oil and fluid service and some good used stock cookie cutters and new tires. I'm only seeing $3-4K max to bring it back to reliable transportation even with tax & title.

Still it's moot but I'm sure we haven't seen the last of this one.

Good to know about the cookie cutters, phone dials and fuchs wheels. Mine's an '83 with phone dials..15X7..must've been retrofitted..hmmm. Thanks MGJ...

It could be the car I'm looking for. White isn't my first choice. And the 83 would be the most "un-developed" of the 944s. But man it looks like its in great shape! Thanks for the comments.

I do not understand his marketing.

It closed @ 12.8 with a no sale previously.... so why does he have a new 'buy it now' for 12 ?

I'd guess that before he relisted the car he contacted the high bidder(s) and tried to make a deal. The new listing suggests that he failed. If that's what happened it wouldn't surprise me, since people sometimes seem to enter bids without really intending to buy the car.

Edit: I was looking around eBay and I guess a few are available there, too.
