The game does seem pretty cool....just tweak the cars and settings on the joystick some and it should be very cool to play. I tried the Weekend Drive track and couldn't even stay on the track all the way around taking easy sweepers at 80 in that 944S2 even with some slight tweaks I started...it just wanted to fly off the road. I think the joystick sensitivity or the dead zone or something is off for me.

And yes, that's what I definitely like is being able to add new tracks and all the new cars you want.

I have it set to use my logitech ff wheel. Everything works on the benz race car, but on most all the other cars (also the default car works) the engine is not on. How do you start the car if it isn't already started??

Thanks,
Matt

There is a "Start Car" button. Go into the control setup when you first get in the program and you can assign it to a specific button on your wheel setup or to a key on the keyboard. Pretty cool I thought.....

Once you start the program it was one of the options right on the screen for me. Racer.exe and there is like single player, multi-player, quit, select car, select track, etc.

Also check their website...they have a keylist there as well that is helpful.

It seems to crash when you get the car airborne.

Didn't have that problem myself......got the latest update through the link from Xtreme? I had the car airborne on the Weekend Drive track several times (had not to!) and not a problem.....checked video driver, etc?

Matt - you can explore the sub folders of RACER, and if you look hard enough, you can find the control set .ini or .cfg file. It's been a while since I played with it, and I'm at work so I can't check now, but I can find it for you when I get home if need be.

If you take the time to properly tune the cars you can get them to feel realistic,.

Crashes everytime I try to start it, I ran the config and then hit play..and no go. In fact no part of the game works (car modeler, track editor, etc...)

Windows XP Pro SP1...are you guys having the same issues?

I downloaded the latest stable release and the beta, both did the same thing. Currently have 0.5 installed.
