Hey all, I just found this photo in a drawer the other day and figured I'd share it with the 914'ers over here.
This is me in 1977 or '78 next to my dad's 914. He had always been a Porsche lover, and with one of them in the garage I was hooked since farther back than I can remember! We lived in Monterrey, Mexico for 4 years when I was very young and I would ride in the middle "seat" of the 914 from Mexico to Ohio when we would visit relatives - gotta love the 70s! I remember everything about the interior of this car, how it smelled, how it sounded. Sometime around the mid 80s it was having some mechanical problems and it sat in the garage for quite a while until my dad donated it to the vocational-ed program at his old high school around 1989 - just a few years shy of when I would have been able to drive it!
I'm pretty new to RL although I've lurked for a while, and I must say that you guys seem like a top notch crew for the most part. I've decided that it's time for me to get my first Porsche so I'm scouring the country for the perfect CPO 991. I'll surely report back when I find it!
