Default 914-6 Barn find on Ebay

This will be a substation restoration and I just don't understand the pricing.

This should be a fix the mechanicals, clean it up and drive it as a true barn find. Doing a total resto will get you upside down quickly.

While Mohr is generally priced at the top of the market, this gives you an idea of where 914-6 prices have gone in recent times:

I bet this barn find sees $40k on the Ebay auction.

The pics lead me to think the longitudinals are gone and the doors are rubbing in the jams, bc the sag is so bad. There is no driving this wo a major body renovation..

Yep. $20k in paint and body before you even start on the mechanical part. But people will pay for it. You should see the stuff coming out of PMB in salt lake. Big money restoration work. And guys are having them do GT replicas on real original sixers.

If that car is a numbers matching car, I hope it is restored as a stock-bodied car. I like the GT replicas but would only do that on a 4 cylinder chassis 6 conversion.

The 914 sold $33K

These two would be better drivers, the barn find needs to be restored, bone stock.

The *** built car looks awesome.

Like others I hope the barn find gets restored stock. I only mentioned the GT reps as an indication that people are currently willing to spend a lot of money on these old sixers.

The *** car sold for $20.4, which seems reasonable to me.

Probably would cost close to that much to get a 2.2l S spec engine built today, and James *** isn't building them anymore. Someone bought that nicely.

I just bought one that had been sitting for years . I paid over 30K for it.

I'm not a 914-6 guy but in all the years I have played with these cars it was the first time one had been offered to me. Needs a complete restoration but very little rust as compared to the eBay car.
