3.0 turbo into 914?

The engine transplant hass been done a couple of times. I think the main challenges are the significant turbo and exhaust plumbing fabrication (I hope you or a friend really likes to bend tubes and weld), and figuring out some kind of effective intercooler installation.
Richard Clewett out here in SoCal has a turbo 914 (-6). He advertises in Pano and/or Excellence and might be a source of info and parts.

Oh yeah...the trans is a pretty expensive and complex proposition. Details have been posted on www.914club.com previously.
I have heard figures in the $5-7K range JUST for the tranny and shift-linkage mods to run the 930 gearbox...

Chris - thanks a lot for the info. I wouldn't be adding an intercooler to the stock 3.0 turbo - maybe water injection. How many hours (track days) do you suppose a side shifter would take 300 hp?

Chris is right. Clewett has a 3.1 or 3.2 914-6 turbo. He's the guy to talk to about such a transformation.
I ran with him on the way up to the Historics one year ... the car is an absolute rocket and the craftsmanship is superb.
One thing you will definitely need to address with this project is CHASSIS STIFFENING. Obviously, the suspension will need gussets, but you should put A LOT of thought into a full roll cage.
