And this is the current 914, a '74 1.8L. Not nearly as nice, not nearly as fast, but still kinda fun! And now, with a new muffler, it is quieter!

When I bought the car the paint was pretty rough. I used Griot's products to polish it, which transformed the car from a fifty-footer to an almost presentable ten-footer. The hood was by far the worst part, so I pretended to know what I was doing, sanded it down, applied a little Bondo here and there, used Rustoleum primer, sanded it again, etc. Since the picture was taken I painted the hood black using a couple of rattle cans. Needless to say, it didn't turn out too hot.
Now I'm contemplating taking it off the car again, block-sanding it, and setting up a booth inside my garage (using 2x4s and plastic sheeting), and spraying it. But, before doing that, I need to buy a new, larger capacity, compressor, a water filter, a regulator, spray guns, etc. The cost of equipment, and the time to do the work, are negatives. The fact that I hate doing body work is another negative.
I think that I should take the car to our town's best body shop and just have it painted.

Race Car
Taken yesterday. It was the first time I've been able to sit in the car as a complete car and hear it run since I bought it in September of 2009!! So excited to hear it run, can't wait to drive it. few little items still need tweaking and others installed and it's done. Hope to have it in a week or two.......

Took out the silver car to fill up with gas and Stable, pumped up tires, put in new Brad Penn and filter, and it will be put away for the winter
Cold weather coming... gonna get the red car finished this spring and it will move to AZ where I can drive it year around!!
