About to fire up my Dad's car..

any harm in starting it without the muffler/tailpipe?

NOPE! I have started several cars with just heat exchangers. and some without...

Doesn't affect the running of older cars at all.

So will the old man. I'm building a new exhaust but he's coming week after next and I need to start it for him. Hell, after so long I need to hear it run again. Maybe that will get me motivated to finish it. Thanks for the replies!
