Default Going to look at a 914

Either tomorrow or sometime soon, I will be going to look at a 2.0L 914.

What all should I specifically inspect? Rust spots etc.

The Longitudinals under the rocker panels for rust. Look under the battery tray for heavy rust damage.

Read my 'Backpad" thread a few threads down from the top... Good luck, I hope you find a much better car that the one that I drug home.

Don't neglect to lift out the carpets under/behind the seats - check the floor for rust. Check every electrical item on the car, and remove the gas tank filler cap and smell the gasoline.

If the car has "some rust" there is way more in other places. Post pictures!

Look everywhere.. these are 35+ year old cars that never had rust protection. Trunks, battery box, under the box, right rear suspension, jack ports, longitudinals, floor boards (in front and behind AND under the seats).

More importantly though is to share pics so we can "grade" it for you.

Not sure if you have already looked at the car, but this is a good resource to look at before buying a car.
