I don't have Motons but I do have Fox Shox coil overs all around on my race car, with the ERP 935 front end set up. The set up is WONDERFUL, so I would assume Motons would be the same.
I think Fox is good enough, and much cheaper than Moton too. Interesting when you look at their website its only motorcycle/ATV, but Smart Racing sells them for 911/914.

The Motons are really a step up from the Fox. If you really want to go nuts, talk to Angelo at Anze Engineering and get some Penske's or Ohlins.

Thanks for the info. I just purchased the 914-6 that was on a recent thread here (Porsche 914-6 3.8 Hewland 6 spd. Sequential). The suspension c/o Leda custom adjustable shocks, uprights with tubular front suspension with all heim joints and custom trailing rear arms. Not familiar with that set-up. I have Motons on my GT3 and love them. Did not know how they compare to the Leda's - Penske's - Ohlins or Fox's.

No expereince with Leda's, but they are supposed to be good. I would suggest finding your local shock expert and making friends.

There are a lot of good, professional-grade shocks out there, but not all of them have good valving for Porsches and that can take a LOT of time to get right.
I've not used Leda's, however I've used Penske, Fox, Ohlin, JRZ & Moton and IMHO, the Moton's simply are head and shoulders above the rest for our cars. JRZ's are damned close.

VS,
Gearing is selected by observing the engine's dyno charts to see the torque & HP curves, rear tire diameter, desired top speeds and what tracks one will run.
As you can see, its quite difficult to make any comments with the information I have,....

JP. I am excited about the car. My plan is to try and get as much experience as I can this year. I just finished my first full season in PCA. My plan is to race both AX, IRDC, possibly Pro 3. My AX strategy this year is PCA and try and attend both the SCCA school and EVO school to try and get my skills up to speed. I was in the same class as Leeds and lets say it was not pretty. Even though I came in second place in the class, that was because there were only three of us, and the third guy did not have enough meets to qualify. I was using my 993 turbo which IMO is a terrible AX car. When I wanted it to go fast it was slow. When I wanted it to go slow it was to fast. I am trying to assess my development in AX by seeing how many seconds I am behind the fastest time of the day. My goal is to continue to make up time. Any recommendations you might have, I am all ears.

(3 fine drivers) on lot of experience in a 914 with the order of capabilities of your new beastie. Be forewarned, the 914 can be an evil little bitch when you approach the limit.....and that is a stockish car. Leeds, Jodie & Greg can give you experiences that come much harder if you have to find out on your own.......but your ego may take a beating.. Butt time is a must....as much as you can deal with.
An experienced co-driver gives you twice as much info if you can find one with which you can communicate.....this takes some doing & I suspect you would not lack for volunteers. There are some unofficial rules on sharing a ride with a car owner......not the least of which deal with risk sharing
and normal wear & tear expenses. This may be more than you are willing to take on but it has advantages.
Good luck and I'm sure our paths will cross this next season.
