Default What is a good price?

There are a couple of 914's for sale in my local area that I am interested in. Does this seem like a good price?

$2,500 1975 914, 1.8

$1,850 1973 914, ??

Thanks for the help,

Cory

Alot depends on the condition, rust being the biggest factor to consider as discussed in another thread. THe 1.8 is less desirable than the 2.0 that was available in 75. A '73 2.0 is one of the more desirable models. Not sure if that is a 2? Webers means someone removed all the fuel injection stuff which worked well, got better gas milage, etc. Lots of work to find and put it all back - if you decide to. Lots of time has passed and many hands have been in there, so look closely!

Ask over on 914world.com and 914club.com, there are many 914's in WA state, and this probably belongs to someone on those BBS's.

As noted, all depends on rust- 73 doesn't have appearance group so is most likely a 1.7. (and has "riviera" aftermarket wheels- popular back then but cheap). Later ones had the awful bumpers and the 1.8 is the LEAST desireable engine....nothing special with either one but then again they aren't asking much... don't believe it when they say no rust!!!!!!!
