1974 914-6 owners manual
About 30 years ago I ordered a bunch of OEM owners manuals from the Porsche factory. Included in the order was a 1974 914-6 owners manual in French. Did they pruduce a 1974 914-6 and if so, is the manual worth anything? I may have some earlier 914-6 and or 914 manuals that are new and unread. If there is any interest I will go thru them and post what I have. Thanks Jerry Pennington

They didn't make "real" 6's after 1972 so I don't know why there would be a 1974 OEM 914-6 manual, but then you know the French... maybe it was a reprint or replacement for an original one from 1970-72, though only less than 300 were made in '72.

I'd be interested in the French manual as I have a French 914/6.
the French cars had yellow spotlights and amber reversing lights but otherwise were the same as German cars.
The little badge over the lock is from Sunauto - the French importer.

It looks better in the photos than in real life as it is a completly unrestored 914/6. The wheels are from a 911 carrera and the the extra inch at the back is causing a little bit of damage where it rubs the inside of the wing when conering hard. I have a list of things I should do to it but as I have another 914/6 nearly restored I'll probably leave the car alone and sell it as it is.
The body is exceptionally good for a 914 as someone waxed the internals when it was still young. The sad thing is that the value of an orginal 914/6 here is not a whole heap more than a good 4 cyl. car. I could realistically expect 25kEuro.

there must be a basis for a bragging match here - who can make their 914 lean the most ??
Actually I did those slaloms on old tyres and that was about as much tilt as I could get before the back axle tried to pass out the front one.

There's the reason I put the factory sway bars on mine about 35 years ago...but I have to admit I haven't autocrossed it since the 80's. Got other toys for that!

I wouldn't mind getting a stock sway bar for it. I don't plan on AX it a lot, but I want to make it a little more fun on the back roads. I can't have my S10 handling better now can I.

I actually have the set of weltmeister sway bars somewhere in the garage - but they never got fitted.
Jay, I can beat you for age of the shocks, but the wide tyres don't look nearly as dramatic as the skinny ones.
BTW - I have just this week found the original French owner and made contact.
