Default Why is this forum so weak?

Ok, here comes a vent! Why does this forum get so few hits? I can't believe there aren't more people on Rennlist who don't want to talk about the 914!!!! I think we all need to make more of an effort (including myself) to put up some more posts in here. I have been to 914club and 914world and I don't enjoy those sites as much. John D., can you offer some help?

That's a good question.
I agree...
Great idea!

I am going to start looking for more information to post on here tonight. We need to get some good 914 tips on here. Also, if anyone has a question on what to do on their 914 don't hesitate to post it here!

Competition - with PelicanParts, 914world and 914club you have 3 other good to great 914 related resources. Lots of active posts on everything that goes wrong with 914s to improving the cars to old and new pics etc. I have the time to look at all 4 places, but when I have a technical issue, I post in the other places because of all their traffic. A cyclical argument to be sure. Would I like the rennlist 914 board to be more active? Sure. Just not sure how to carve out a niche when so many other places also have such solid activity.

Racer is probably correct about competition. RennTech has same problem with little to no 914 posts. I have had to prod myself to come back to this site just because the existing Boxster and 914 sites take so much of my time.

It's easy IMHO.....there are few 914's left out there. Thus fewer owners as opposed to everything else.

I frequent rennlist much more than I care to admit (addiction?) and usually check the 914 forum but it does seem rather quiet compared to others... I don't have a Cayenne anymore but still lurk over there because we have a lot of "characters" over there, even if it isn't really car talk per se...
I hit the OT and Racing forums quite often as well, plus a lot of other racing sites including autosport, speed, etc. There's only so much time...

(BTW, Jay I don't recognize which 914 model that is in your avatar )

...it's the only 914 forum I frequent (I'm basically shy)

But the answers in this forum are good.

There are few 968s out there as well, but that community is active here. But there is only really one competing 968 site for the US, while there are 2-3 popular 914 sites to hang out in. It's too bad - this place seems like it has the potential to be the ultimate uber site encompassing all Porsches but sometimes the traffic just tends elsewhere.

Well, once spring gets here and I see my 914 again I am going to make it a point to photograph some of my projects and talk about them here.

Unfortunately I haven't made much progress on my car, where I need to ask questions about anything. Except maybe if you want to come by and shoot the paint, that'd be cool!
