Sounds interesting, but if there is "some rust" there is more the guy doesn't know about. But it is interesting!

Am I getting Cynical?

I believe that ther is no such thing as a cheap 914. It is eather cheap to buy and then you have to spend a lot of money or it is expensive but good. (I know the other possibility of expensive but crap also exists but I don't want to be that cynical).

I have a 914/6 that looks like it will be ready this year after 9 years in the workshop.....I know how expensive it can be.....

I totally agree with with you for the most part. However, I just bought a 914 for a 1/3 of what it is worth because the seller wasn't aware of what he had. So keep the faith! But for the most part I have always agreed that you are better off spending more $$$$$ up front and less later.
