Default Bubbling Vinyl on Sail panels

What are causes for the sail trim to bubble up? Failed adhesive? Moisture (rust)? Age? My previous 914 did not have this trim so it wasn't a concern. I've seen a few examples with the trim and some was fine, others, "bubbly"

TIA.

All of the above. Usually it's failed adhesive though.

If it's bubbly in a straight, horizontal line about an inch above the fender, it's rust.

Can you post some pics of the bubbles? That might help us let you know what it might be.

It sure does depend WHERE on the sail it is bubbling, but while it might be bad adhesive, unfortunately it's probably rust...

I should know this weekend.. My initial thought is that it is likely rust... hoping its not.

As luck would have it, the bubling on vinyl on the car I saw was the least of its problems. While it drove great (suspension, engine, brakes etc), the rear trunk was shot, the front trunk was getting there, the paint (repaint) was everywhere and the seals were all just wrong.
