Default November Excellence Market Update

Wow - Although I can't believe the values for teeners have risen 20% in a single year as the article says, it's reasonable to think that they might have understated values in the past.

Personally, I think that 914s are going for way to much money. I love them just as much as anyone if not more. But I still think they are over priced. Make me feel I got a steal on my 1.7 I just bought with 22K on it!

Paid $4300 for mine in November 1970- thought it was a good deal- a new Porsche instead of an old tired 356 for the same money...

I paid 2600 for my 2.0 back in 2000. I would never let it go for just that.

The person who bought must have thought the same.

$14K for a mint car is good deal considering if you had to source parts and do a repaint you can easily exceed that.

Wow original 22k miles, nice to see there are still some original low mileage examples out there. I know of a Melaga red one locally, original owner car that has about the same or less mileage. It is so cherry and really makes you appreciate these cars as they were instead of how many have become.

Best part, I only paid $3500 for it! It needs a little paint work from stone chips, but other then that it is REALLY nice. The guy who sold it did no research when he was selling it and had no idea what the market value was on it.

AH ignorance can be wonderful if your on the buying end. This is how so many nice low mileage cars end up in places like RPM, Sloan and Willhoit for sale at premium pricing. How people can own a car like these for so many years and trade them in for blue book value is beyond me.

Their loss your gain.

Drive it in good health.

I don't plan on keeping the miles down either. I want to drive it! I mean I only will drive it probably 2K a year anyway, but I am taking it to the parade this year and I plan on taking part in everything with it including the Preservation Class of the concour. I'll even do the track day with the 165 series tires and stock suspension, should be fun!!!
