Default Dropping the engine

When we did the restoration, we found a few places where there were tips on dropping the engine out of the 914. Now that I want to do so, those links seem gone or nonfunctional. I did a search here and came up empty. Any place have the drill documented? Thanks, all.

The first time Matt Romanowski and I took out an engine it took 3 hours or so. I think we have it down to 30 minutes as well now.

Thanks, guys - any one of you visiting SE OH soon? While I have you here - the little 1.8 spit out a spark plug. I'm hearing this is probably a cracked head. Any experience with that? I've heard about welding it (why I think we need to drop the engine) or this helo-coil procedure.

Well, if it spit out the plug in the very least the thread is stripped. 1.8 heads aren't too difficult to come by I THINK. They make a spark plug thread repair kit, you can buy at napa. If can also be welded, just make sure you get someone who knows their stuff on that. Let me know how it goes.
