NEW to 914's Where is the plug to add oil to engine?
Hello, I am new to the 914. I just bought a 76 with the 2L engine. I drained and replaced the oil/filter.. Could some one PLEASE tell me where the plug is located to add oil to the engine. I see the breather sticking up in the air. There is also a black plastic plug towards the center/back of the case. A picture would be great. Sorry for the dumb question.
Thanks in advance..AL Z

When standing behind the car, it is to the left of the distributor. There's a funnel looking thing on top of a little box where a hose attaches to. On top of the funnel like thing is a cap that unscrews and should have the word OEL on it. That's where it goes.

Thanks for the response hitbyastick
The tube you are reffering to on my car is not there. I think it was replaced by an after market breather assembly with an aluminum cap. Here is a picture of what it looks like.. I think I may have to remove the clamp holding the breather to be able to use the tube its attached to it to add the oil. Does this sound correct? Thanks in advance..AL Z

That "breather" is the strangest looking thing I've ever seen on a type !V engine. Definitely aftermarket, maybe from Russia"! That would be the filler...

Congratulations on getting a 914!
That breather thing was actually sold by Automotion a long time ago, as part of a valve cover vent kit with lines attaching from both sides of the engine.
I have it, but it doesn't go there.
