Just curious if there are any other original owners of 914's out there? It was my first car and I've had it since Dec 1970... it will never leave the family as my boys will fight over it when I'm long gone.
I've had many Porsches over the years but the 914 is still my sentimental favourite.... (the silver one is my first, the red a gift from the widow of a dear friend who died way too early... we used to autocross against each other back in the 70's...)

I'm the third owner, but I have all the paperwork from the first two owners (both PCA members and Parade Concours Judges) including a pre-purchase invoice. The pre-purchase invoice was cool because they were calling the 2.0 914 a 914S.

Yeah, I'm the second owner too, for over 25 years.
I remember my 914 from day one...when my good friend's dad bought it and we used to sit on it and watch traffic as 'lil kids. His dad put on too much weight to fit in it and all the kids wanted pick-up trucks, so I lucked out and got it.

When I had my own 914, I was the 3rd owner.. my brother the second owner.. and the original owners of the 914 also had a Speedster that was in the same poster that my Dad's speedster was in.
My dad is an original owner of the 914-6 he has. He *thinks" he wants to sell it. I'd hoping he will let his children inherit it than try to come up with that kind of coin

I'm the third owner of my 914. The original owner had it since 1974 then I bought it in 1999. The original owner was the car dealer who kept the car for autocross.
Does that count?

Anyone who appreciates the 914 is fine with me. When I joined PCA back in 1971 many didn't even want to let the 914 in the club. It was afterall a VW... I loved beating those guys in autocrosses with my "VW"...

I may not have a 914, or a porsche for that matter, but I appreciate that my 18 year old car isn't only mine - I like that it has a history, gives it character... Maybe it's the mystery.
Though a one owner car for 36 years is freaking cool.
