You have to sacrifice the rubber. Then, go to town with it. The chrome trim is very easy to bend so take it slowly and carefully. Even so, your chances of putting the chrome back intact is tough.

So I would remove the trim first, followed by the window? Or simultaneously. How do I cut the rubber sealant junk? Piano wire? Lucky for me I haven't found a specific tool around here...

Use new clips (I think there is something like 12 of them) to hold the trim in- put them in BEFORE you put a new windshield in. Don't ask me how I know...
