Dear 356/914 Brethren,

I have been participating in DE events for a few years now with my 912, and only once have I seen a 356 there (there being LRP). I would love to see some more aircooled 4 cyl cars out there. We are not that far off the pace. I'm turning a 1.12sec lap @ LRP. OK, so I'm not setting any records but remember most are limited by the driver not the car. So even in yellow run group, I'm passing 944 / 944 turbos and 911s regularly and on occasion, have lapped some cars as well. Once in a while I am lapped, yes lapped, by only the fastest prepared cars.

Please come out and track those queens, risk is pretty low unless YOU do something wrong. Those 911 guys seem to forget real porsches used to have 4 cyls and they always are impressed when you can pull them through a corner.

BTW - most 914s I see are converted 6 or 8 cyl.

Hi Peter,

You must have missed Jay and I. If I remember right, you only do LRP, so you don't get a full effect. I do somewhere between 20+ days a year and my car is at tracks while I help people. Hopefully you'll see me somewhere at the track..

You're right, I don't get out enough. I'm hoping to pick-up a tow vehicle and trailer this year so I can broaden my track horizons :-) I'd love to do NHS & the Glen LCMT would be awesome too.

I drove my 2 liter 914 in the red run group for years. I am sorry to say I have never seen you at an event, but if you attend some events at NHIS this summer you will see lots of 914 4 bangers there. Best wishes - Jay

I've run my 914 at lime rock several times, but not for about 5 years... or roughly since I dedicated my 944 turbo to the track...
