Tuning 3.0 Engine in 914
Followed advice and set the distributor in my 81 SC 3 liter engine to 30 some degrees with the vacuum advance disconnected. Anyone know what the stock advance curve should be? I'd like to think about a different distributor with centrifical advance set up like stock to get better low rpm torque (under 2k rpm). The high end is plenty exciting as it is. Probably most people don't care about the low end but I mostly drive around town, so low end is nice too.

I had mine (82) re-calibrated (recurved) from CIS to Webers by MotorMeister. At 1000 RPM, I'm at 5/6 degrees while at 6000 on the tach, I'm at 28 degrees. Also - I don't run any vacuum advance at all from the intakes - and have plugged them off.
