Post 73 914 Rust Repair

Anyone with rocker panel,battery box, inner wheel house,engine flange replacement experience I can use your advice. I have a willing body man but he's never restored a 914.
Thanks,
Tim

Obviously I haven't seen the car, but my advice...

sell the car

You can/will spend THOUSANDS trying to repair a rusty 914. Unless you're body man is so willing that he'll work for practically free, then IMHO you're better off buying a non-rusty tub and transferring any stuff you want to keep off this car over to that one.

Rust = evil

Just my $.02

I think I did just that, bought a car that is nearly rust free. The P.O. had lots of repair done including a GT stiffening kit. There are two perferation holes in the floor pan that are next on the list. Yes I have a welder who works for "Jack" Daniels that is.
