Post wheel sizes under a 74 2.0

I have a set of 16 x 7 Phone dials from my 928 sitting in my garage. Soon I will be picking up the stable mate. needs alot of work and don't care about stock appearance just performance mods. So anyway with the right spacing would these wheels fit if I used really low profile tires. How much room is gained by adding GT flares. How hard is it? Are there any web sites that describe adding flares. Soon to be a two P car owner

I think you will be hard-pressed to fit 16x7's under there without flares...or maybe even with flares.

16x6 Fuchs will fit, and 15x7's can be made to fit too with probably some fender lip rolling and a bunch of negative camber.

If I recall correctly, the GT flares can get you to at least 15x7's F and 8's R, if not bigger. Obviously there is superwide bodywork available if you want even more room i.e. 10" +

Good luck,

Joe,
You can get a 7X15 using 205/50/15 Hoosier tires in the front but a 7 inch rim with standard Porsche offset will not fit in the rear without some type of flairing. Lip folling will not do the trick, I had to pull and cut the fender and add three pie shaped wedges to the area. I also run almost three degrees of negative camber which provides more room for the tire. The GT type system will allow 8 to 9 inch rims. Be careful on which brand of tire you use for the same size tire will be different widths depending on the manufacturer. The Hoosier is fairly square when compared to the G force. I can fit a 225/50/15 G-force in the front but in Hoosier I have to drop back to a 205/50/15.
Good luck.

I guess I am realy confused now after reading DERSIX reply. The way it sounds is the front fenders are wider than the rear? Or is the track width more narrow up front? Anyway I got most parts for a five lug conversion with the car I just bought. and two 7 x15 replica Fuch rims.

There is more clearance in the front fender well than in the rear thus the 15X7 inch wheels with standard offset will fit easily in the front but the rear fenders will have to rolled or flared to accommodate the 7 inch rim even with 2.5-3.0 degrees negative camber.
