Post How about some life in this forum?

I actually got this idea from the 944 site. How about everyone tells everyone else about their 914 and problems accompanied with it?
I have a white '74 2.0. Pretty stock except for it's lower than stock and has black american racing rims on it (still 4 lug). Body is straight and little rust. Except for it needs a new undercoating. And a windshield. And seats: I hate the seat covers. Seal belt wouldn't hurt either. Blaupunkt stereo cd player with two speakers. That's about it.

Can't believe it. I thoughtI was the only one who almost gave up this MB for dead.
74 2.0 Euro P/C's 14lb flywheel, BIG WEB CAM. solid lifters, 44 IDF's, Birsch 4-2-1 exhaust SSI exchangers, (all spread evenly in my garage). Alaska Blue Metallic, Way low ride height, Corbeau Forza seats, fiberglass bumpers, Not a stitch of sound deading in the whole car.

I think the main reason this board is kinda dead is that the main 914 email-list is where the 914 fanatics primarily hang out!

Anyways, my car is a 73 2.0, basically stock except mildly track-prepped with corbeau forza seats, schroth 5-points, kumho dot-r and hoosier tires (hoosiers are on a set of panasport race wheels), 19mm front swaybar and 140lb rear springs, turbo tie rods, porterfield r4 brake pads, etc etc. Fun stuff...

I just bought me a spoiler for it. It's really neat and really enhances the 914's look.

I want a 959 please.

I would post a picture if I could figure out HOW ???? It appears that one must have a web site to post from, rather than just transfer in a pic from my puter files.....If this is the case, it's not very user friendly.

That "other" list makes it easy using a "browse" feature.

Cool

Hi Guys,

I've got two 914/6 numbered collections of rust.

One is currently being welded back into a presentable shape and will hit the road as a basically standard (well 130PS, S brakes etc.) 914. This project is only about 20 old at this stage and the body is not rerady for painting yet.

The other is likely to get married with a modified 914 that has a 2.2 S engine and full S running gear. I'm tempted to makt this one a wide body. At the current rate of progress the second one will hit the road in about 2010. Will the value have increased?

Irishdriver - but not driving a 914/6 yet

The other is at risk of getting

I'm already a member of the air cooled 914-914/6 group. I guess the "other 914 group" is in addition to this one. I clicked on the post to subscribe, but it looks like you can only get e-mails sent to you, as opposed to just logging in to check daily posts, like this one. I guess I'm confused, slow, or maybe both. Anyone else confused, or someone to straighten me out?
Oh, I've got a '74 on a rotisserie, which will eventually be geting an SBC. Progress is slow, but I plan to post pics as they become interesting.

Joe R & JPIII:
The link to upload pictures is on the Rennlist Forum main page, from the Rennlist main page select "Web Boards", the link is at the top, it has the "browse" feature. Select "Image" from the UBB code menu to enter your picture URL. Avoid file names with a space - Netscape users will not see your pictures.

I have two 914's - this is my '74
Original 1.8 engine with intercooled turbo and CIS-E fuel injection. Oil cooler and battery in spare tire well. BMW front calipers, 19 mm master and "T". Bilstein's all around, turbo tie rods, front and rear bars. Solid trans mounts. GT style engine lid, rear reflector. Center console with custom gauge set-up. Numerous minor mods.
