Well, I no longer drive my porsches in the winter (last 2 I haven't) but otherwise they are my daily drivers. I currently drive a 928 and a 911 as daily drivers...9 months out of the year. Normal maintenance and have had no breakdowns in the 3 years I've owned them. The 928 i regularly take for long distances 1/2 day one-ways. I drove a 912 for 5 years everyday of the year and was never stranded. And my first porsche, a 914, i drove for 3 years as a daily driver without issues.

Like any mechanical device, if you maintain it well it will serve you well. If you abuse it you'll eventually get abused.
