i found out i have a side-shift 5-speed, instead of the rear shifter. i need some ideas on adjustments. the throw fore/aft is long,almost too long when going into reverse.plus, shifting to 4th then 5th are a real chore. i have to push very firmly to make sure i go to fourth and not 2nd.
what adjustments are possible?

Order new shift bushings for the shift rods. The shift pattern can be adjusted under the shifter afteryou install new bushings.
