Default Vintage rally's in a 914

Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone had taken there 914 and entered it in a Vintage rally race? I just was wondering how they were to drive in those events. I have owned a few sports cars but never a 914 and have always wanted to drive one in one of those Vintage rallies through some rustic village or something. Also if anyone has owned an Alfa spider, mg or Austin as well as a 914 how do they compare? Thanks guys

Since the 914 is mid engined there is no comparison IMHO. Alfa's are nice and drive like a sports car but the early MG's, Healy's etc are really 60's cars and not in the league of a 914. A 914/6 with a larger engine will blow them away in power and ride (try some twisty's at high speed in a 914).
The factory did try hillclimbs in a 914/6 and that is one event the 914/6 didn't shine, in the mud.
