Any one ever heard of a 914-8?
I have a library book that my kid brought home from school that has a short write up about a 914-8. Not a V-8, but a boxter 8. I never knew they made 8 cyl 914 cars. Anyone have any info on this?

One of them was given to Ferry Porsche in 1969 for his 60th birthday. It is now in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. I've seen it. It's essentially the same, but with some serious power.

How much HP does that bad boy put out? I have driven John Dunkle's 914-6 3 liter abd I thought that thing was fast. I can't imagine a factory made 914-8.

The engine is a type 908 3 litre 8 cylinder boxer engine.
In race trim it had about 350PS but the two road versions are believed to have had 260 PS.
reportedly good for over 250km/hr (150 m/hr)
