Default help with a VIN?

Hi Guys,

I'm not a 914 guy but in order to get a 4 banger motor to play with I had to take it's tub and two trannies.

Can someone please let me know what the tub is based on the VIN:

4732910610

It looks like a good candidate for a full cage car, but I don't know enough to say for a hoot.

Thanks in advance as I know in the 911 world this stuff is RTFM, but I don't have that manual.

thanks again,
e

ok..here is the deciphering from what I remember/have been told:

47 - designates this as a 914-4 (versus a 914-6)
3 - designates this as a 1973 model
29 - says it was manufactured by Karmann
10610 - build sequence number

Ooo, ooo...do me!

4752907876

What does the 5 stand for? 1975? The build sequence number is lower than the '73 above...

Yes...the 5 is for 1975 and the build sequence started at 1 each year. So yours is the 7,876th car built as a 75 model year! There were approximately 11,300 914's produced for the world in the 75 model year.
