Hi:

We've done several of these (3.6 into 914) conversions,....

Installing a G-50 is a complex project as the transmission must be mounted upside down and custom linkage must be fabricated. The ring gear cannot be moved to the other side as there is insufficient room. Further, you have to convert the car to the hydraulic clutch.

Using a 915 is FAR earlier and less expensive. Use a late model Carrera 915 with the cooler. Install the billet bearing retainer plate, make sure you have an LSD and the billet side plate.

Wevo makes the very best conversion hardware to facilitate the installation of the 915 into these cars. The mounts and shifter are first-rate.

Check out www.patrickmotorsports.com. They specialize in G50 conversions and 3.6 litre installs for the 914. There work is very impressive. They advertise in Pano a lot and there cars are extraordinary.
