Default Wheel trade

Hey, guys. Found a guy willing to trade wheels. I think his are Mahles and mine are aftermarket Fuchs. Assuming his are in good condition, how much cash should I offer in the deal? I attached a pic of my car as well as his. Thanks!

there is a way to tell for certain whether your wheels are Genuine FUCHS. ( and I have never seen a set of a/m repop Fuchs )

Go to the inside of the wheel and if real, they will have a Porsche part number and an embossed FOX head in the paddles.

They will also be very light in weight. Relatively speaking. NOT as light as the Mahles, which are a cast magnesium, but if those ARE a/m wheels, they will be heavier and have none of those markings I have just pointed out. The cast Pedrini wheel will also be heavier than the Mahle gas burner rim.

It's very possible you have real FUCHS on your car and they have just been refinished in a different scheme from factory.

* I think they are also a prettier wheel and do believe if real, they are worth more than the Mahles. To me they would be.

If you Fuchs are fake (American Racing and a few others sold 2.0 style fuchs, advertised in VW magazines) then trade.

Mine are definitely knock offs, not real Fuchs. I got some better pictures of the Mahle wheels and they looked pretty rough. I'll cont my search for some original wheels.

Mahle wheel set of four in good shape needing paint of course with the lug bolts are worth 1000 dollars. Used repro fuchs (the squared off edges of the spokes in the picture along with the plastic center cap gives them away as you said, repros, are worth in good condition 300 for the set.

what kind of original wheels are you looking for?

I have an extra set of original fuchs that coincidentally look a lot like your a/m versions.

Like any "vintage" wheel set, you might want to get them tested for cracks before trusting your life to them.
